Kodi update #4

Kodi had his staples removed today!  He is looking really good.  The vet wants to give him one more week on his bum leg to see if it gets any better on its own, and if not, it's off to the ortho doc for a consult.  Fun times!

Kodi update #3

Kodi is doing so well! He goes back to the vet on Friday to have his staples removed.  He is starting to move around a lot more and is even laying in some of his funny positions like  he used to!

The hot dog is from Grandma and Grandpa Robinson.  We also got a cute dog plaque from Great Aunt Connie and some treats and a toy from Cousteau, Kathy and Jeff.  Thanks everyone for thinking of us!

Kodi update #2

Kodi is recovering very well according to the vet.  He definitely seems to be feeling better.  He is sleeping through the night now and hardly crying at all anymore.  We have all been having a big slumber party in the living room every night.  It's been kind of fun actually, although a little chilly since our back door has an awful seal and the cold air is blowing right on us.  It's on our list of things to fix!

We think he's getting cabin fever too because he keeps getting up every half hour or so and wanting to walk around the house.  We can't take him outside for a long walk yet, so we just lead him around the kitchen in circles until he gets bored and goes back to his bed.  

Check out his new red wrap which matches his red collar! I obviously thought this was very cool since I am the queen of matching (after my mom  of course)!

Kodi update

Kodi is starting to perk up a little more each day.  They have wrapped his dislocated leg for support, and he has started putting a little weight on  it occasionally.  He is still pretty hesitant to do so.  Here are a few more pics...I had to take the one from the back.  I thought it was too cute.  As you can see from the last photo, he is not exactly thrilled with my recent interest in photography.

Kodi's accident

Well, as I'm sure some of you heard already, Kodi escaped from his kennel AGAIN, and this time managed to jump our fence and take off into the night.  When Nick and I got home from dinner, he was gone.  We went out searching on foot and in the car with no luck.  Both of our parents came up to help us look for him.  

While Nick was out driving, he came across some people pulled over on the side of the road running right behind our edition.  Upon stopping to talk to them, he found out that they had hit Kodi and he had taken off running.  By some stroke of luck, he managed to limp back home where I was waiting in case he showed up.  

We rushed him to the vet where, thankfully, they told us he had no internal injuries.  He did dislocate one of his legs, while the other one had several deep cuts requiring staples.  There were also had lots of scrapes/bruises on most of his lower half.  He ended up staying at the vet for 2 nights.

We were able to bring him home yesterday afternoon.  He's still in quite a bit of pain, but he has started eating and drinking.  He's also managing to hobble out back to potty on only 3 legs, as he still doesn't want to put weight on the dislocated leg.  He has been quite a trooper.  Here are some pics of his battle wounds, as well as one of him bonding with Dad.

Here are a few shots from Christmas! Nick got a new beer brewing kit from Santa and I got a GPS so I can finally figure out where the heck I'm going! Very exciting! Kodi got a new collar and a cow that moos!
